Art Therapy

Improve your wellbeing through
the power of creativity

I'm Emma
I am a qualified art psychotherapist with several years’ experience of working with children, young people, and adults. I set up Luminate Art Therapy because I know how powerful art therapy can be and I believe more people should have the opportunity to experience its healing qualities.

I have worked in a variety of statutory and charity settings including NHS Primary Care and with adults in a hospice. I have also worked with children in both primary and secondary education in schools, as well as supporting children in care and their carers. Before qualifying as an art therapist, I trained as a youth and community worker, and I have also worked as a community artist.

More about me

Let's make a
plan, together

I know how difficult it can be reaching out for the right support when life becomes overwhelming. I can help you to explore and understand what is causing you discomfort, help you process trauma or painful experiences, or maybe help you through difficult life transitions.

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy, but unlike traditional psychotherapy, people often find art making helps them communicate their thoughts and feelings more easily. I take a psychodynamic approach in my work, helping clients link current issues to early experiences and relationships from childhood. Sometimes it can be difficult to explain our difficulties with words alone, making art and talking about it with an art therapist can help.
